Kin twoM Field Programming Menu

As with all Verizon phones, there is a field programming menu that is available on the KinTwoM.

To get into the menu, go to the phone dialer app and input the below number and press call:

##77647266488

For something easier to remember, you can also remember the alphanumeric version:

##PROGRAMNITT

The service programming code: (default)
000000 <--all zeros

Opening Post

Like many others out there - I'm a technology loving guy (engineer) and want to be a part of the smart phone revolution, but hate the price of data plans.

Seriously now, why should I pay more money than I do for monthly wired DSL access -- especially when I rarely EVER can't find a wi-fi hot spot within walking range? Work has wi-fi, coffee shops have free wi-fi, even my local pizza joint and Mexican restaurant have wi-fi they give out for free. So with all this open internet out there, you can understand why I think that $30/month, or even $15/month is a little ridiculous. When the day comes I can get limited internet access for $5 or so a month I may consider this an option, but for the time being, I'll stick this one out.

With this in mind, you can quickly see how the KinTwoM is an amazing phone for a person like me. It has a built in browser, html support, email, messaging, and even an 8MP camera with HD720p recording support! For the amazing upgrade price of FREE! $50 if you aren't the primary account holder.

So I ponied up and signed for another 2 years with Verizon. (my old phone was in need of replacement anyways, and I might as well get my money's worth since Verizon doesn't exactly let you opt out of the new every two which makes your monthly phone bill higher through subsidizing factors.)

This blog is my way of getting something out there about this amazing little phone, while mentioning the problems and issues that arise with its usage as I'm exposed to it over time.

Enjoy!
